Rehearsal Aids - Autumn Term 2019

This page contains information about aids to rehearsal for our members as they work towards our "Choral Classics" concert on November 30th.

The purpose of this information is to help members rehearse at home in between our formal rehearsal evenings, and can be used to help cover gaps if rehearsals have been missed.

The Autumn Term starts on 5th September 2019, when we will meet for the first rehearsal of our "Choral Classics" programme. Rehearsal on this occasion will start at 7.00 pm, to allow for distribution of music.

Please note: The rehearsal on 12th September 2019 will be an Open Rehearsal, starting at 7.30 pm, and we invite anyone interested in trying out the choir to come along and experience a taster session. Members are encouraged to invite friends, colleagues, etc.!

For those wondering if they might already have the music, here are the details of editions we will be using:

Blest Pair of Sirens is the Novello edition.

In Choral Classics (Novello) are Ave Maria, Cantique de Jean Racine, Insanae et Vanae Curae, Ave Verum, Locus Iste and God so Loved the World.

We will use special editions for The Heavens are Telling, Laudate Dominum, and the Hallelujah Chorus.

And finally, as Gloria is being composed by Nick specially for the occasion - you'll find it nowhere else!

Nick has prepared a list of links to rehearsal tracks and performances of nearly everything we're doing. Members might like to, at least, listen to the pieces (YouTube links in the list below), but rehearsal tracks are extremely helpful (Cyberbass, Choralia etc. links in the list below).
